Breast Health Ultrasound

Breast Ultrasound imaging is a non-invasive medical examination that can assist physicians in diagnosing and treating several medical conditions. It is a safe and painless procedure and does not use any radiation (X-rays). It can also be a beneficial imaging modality to check your overall breast health.

Breasts are comprised of glandular and connective tissues, and we can use breast ultrasound to monitor breast health.  It can also be used to clarify the findings of a mammogram and to evaluate other clinical symptoms – such as nipple discharge, for example.

Breast Ultrasound can be a supplement to Breast Cancer Screening. While mammography is the gold standard for screening breast cancer, not all mammograms can detect all kinds of breast cancers. Similarly, some breast ultrasound abnormalities may not be picked up with ultrasound.
